Love this shelf so much. It is very strong and sturdy but the chrome finish makes it pretty enough to use in a bedroom.
I bought this to match my clothing rack, which I also love, and they compliment each other beautifully. This is sturdy enough to hold a lot of heavy objects, can be be taken apart and reassembled with ease (which I have already done once- just as easy to do the second time around), and shiny and attractive enough to be on display in the bedroom. The shelves are a perfect size- I keep meaning to get some fabric bins to put in here, because it's easy to find all kinds of bins that fit in to this shelf perfectly. The shelves have held tools, heavy jewelry making supplies, many blankets, bins of yarn and fabric, all my pants, pjs and towels (which I have many!) The top of the shelf is perfect for storing items not in use- winter clothes, extra blankets etc. If you're worried about the top being the same kind of wire, you can either store bins up there or cover with fabric. The wire mesh has never caught in anything- not a delicate sweater, tights, many many balls of yarn, etc. The chrome is so pretty and shiny, too, and looks as good as the day I bought it 2 years ago!
If you look in the photos, you'll see right now it has bins full of fabric, clothing, blankets, etc. The second photo was to show scale- that quilt in the background is for a king size bed and it's about 4" off the ground. This rack shipped quickly, is very easy to assemble and can hold just about anything. I'll probably be buying another one.

Didn't expect too much since we bought on a whim for a quick and cheap storage solution. At half price of anything comparable sold at big boxes, I was expecting something flimsy and awkward to assemble. It's neither the case.
As others have noted, it's solid. The chrome finish is quality. It actually looks good! Looks wasn't a priority as this will be hidden in a storage area for us but definitely a nice surprise.
Assembly is a breeze. The engineering thought put behind it is impressive. The posts are labeled to know which is the bottom and which is the top. The threaded ends of the bottom (female) and top (male) makes it simple to connect. Not once was there a sign of potential cross threading. The plastic couplings that holds the shelves are super easy to put on but the genius behind it is how the act of sliding in the shelves holds the couplings firmly in place. You'll see what I mean when you put it together. The hardest part of its assembly is deciding where you want to put the shelves!
Total assembly time after figuring out how to arrange the shelves: 4 minutes.
Note: I did not receive this discounted or free for my blahblahblah. Our storage is the garage. While out of the elements, it will be in a uncontrolled environment that may expose rusting and whatnot. Will update review if that occurs.
I ordered for my kitchen and it fits so well. It is not that sturdy as I expected because it's quite shaky when I hold the poles. But it is okay so far to hold my pots as you see in the picture.
These are a solid value, and a very attractive price point. They are nowhere near as heavy-duty as the 18" deep models you can easily find here or at buying clubs. (Seville Classics and Style Selections are the specific ones I've used.) They are also not shiny chrome.
On the other hand, they are lighter, and seem plenty strong enough for ordinary household storage. I am happily putting boxes of paperwork, which aren't light. I would think twice about large quantities of water, car parts, vinyl records.
I selected this rack mainly because I needed a non-standard size and also because of its low price. The rack went together very easily and fit into the allowed space. But I have to say I got what I paid for. I own several wire shelving units and this one has the thinnest wire of any of them. I do not need to load this unit with a lot of stuff, but I do not believe it can hold the same weight as my other units. So that's your tradeoff. If you need a light duty wire rack, this will do the job. If you want a rack to hold heavy items or for food storage, pay more and get a sturdier unit.

The principle of putting this together is great in theory but difficult for this granny. I watched videos as to how to do it, but I'm a slow learner. Put the shelves on upside down at first. Couldn't get the black clips to stay in place. Finally had to tape them down. Then one of the shelves was bent. I was ready to ship back and had a return label, but my son saved the day and came by to finish assembling them and we put the bent shelf on the top and the bent part to the back. Easier than sending 24# or whatever it weighs, back. Being younger and strong helps, as well as some experience with assembling this type of unit. I really wish the clips locked on better than they do. I put together a garment rack, similar principle, and struggled with it as well but finally managed. I think the clips on all of them do not "lock" into place the way the instructions suggest. And the printed instructions are almost worthless. I would advise using painter's tape and a rubber mallet when putting together. And save yourself a lot of frustration if you're not handy and someone can help you with this. I bought extra clips at Menards only to find they are too big for this brand of shelving.
I bought 2 of these units to help organize a storage Tuffshed, after using a different product, to compare them. I liked these from BestOffice/Calvalier and ordered 6 more for the garage. Compared to the similar HoneyDo shelf these are a little more handy since they have a marking every 6 or so support grooves in the supporting poles which speeds up assembly by making it easier to get the shelves correctly spaced without counting or measuring. A minor point perhaps, as is the fact that the bottom pads come already in place on the BestOffice unit, and the pole joiners have seats half way rather than being continuously threaded, so I feet that the join is more secure. I recommend this product for anyone trying to organize storage space. I also compared as to color (chrome vs. black) and I prefer the chrome since it may show dust to a lesser degree.
I have purchased 3 of them to make store my quilt fabric totes making organization of my stash manageable and easy. Well made, lightweight, easy to put together. Easy to re-adjust as needs change, I was surprised by this. Sturdy, expect that they would hold more weight than I am putting on them. In order to have more shelves per unit than it comes with, I found it was less expensive to purchase an additional whole set than purchase individual shelves. Delivered very fast.
Once I figured out that the uprights needed to be installed with the bars convexing downward, it was very easy to put together. It was tricky, though, because the inward slope is very subtle. Once I figured that out, it went quickly, and I had a shelf configured exactly the way I needed it within a few minutes. You can separately order extra shelves with clips if you have a bunch of very small things to store, and that's extremely helpful, too. I put one of these in a big stairwell to hold extra kitchen stuff, and I put hooks (separate) on the sides to hold pots and pans and kitchen gadgets
Shelf seems pretty sturdy however the manufacturer forgot to include 4 sets of the plastic brackets (leaving me enough to put up 4 shelves but not 5). Called the number on the paperwork and they were friendly and easy to talk to (in the USA even!) but it will take 3-5 business days to get the brackets to me. Kinda annoying as now I have to wait to reorganize my kitchen.
