This was a perfect fit for the job. This is made with amazing wood quality for the price. It fit in the drawer perfectly and placed all the knives in it. I am seriously considering ordering the complimentary drawer organizers. On the width, I only needed to cut of 1/4 of an inch. Now, on the other, I needed 3 inches cut off which seems a lot, but as you can tell from the photos, there is still room left over for placing other items.
I used a table saw to cut it down to size but I am sure there are different ways to cut it such as using a hand saw or a powered hand saw in lieu of the table saw. It cut very nicely. But, I do recommend placing painter's tape on the edge line to be cut, placing it on the side of the piece that you will be keeping and putting in your drawer. The reason for this is that it will help minimize any fraying of the wood along the cut line.
You can't predict what the wood will do, but spending the time doing this will ensure that you have a much smoother finished cut. I definitely would recommend this item because I do intend to buy a second one. Turns out, I had some knives that were still in the sink that didn't make the drawer. I thought I put all of them. My wife has a very nice collection of Cutco knives. Those knives deserve a good home especially since they are made in the USA. Thanks for reading.
I have been dealing with a knife block on my counter that doesn’t let me slide my knives in and out easily because the handle gets caught on the upper cabinet in my kitchen. Which isn’t an issue for those who don’t have upper cabinets over their primary work surfaces. I also like having a clear countertop, so when I stumbled across in-drawer knife blocks, I jumped all over it. Most other, cheaper in-drawer knife blocks are too narrow and short for standard kitchen cabinets. If you got drawer dividers to offset this issue, then those other in-drawer things would work. But then you’d probably pay close to what you’d pay for this. The bad thing is that there is some waste when buying this, but you can make it fit inside your drawer with a couple swipes through a table saw. I love this thing!
Love it! I have been looking for a useful way to store my knives for a long time and I have finally found it. This would not be a good choice for me if my kids were still little because my knives would be within reach of the kids, but my kids are older now and I have no concerns. I have wanted to get my knives off of my counter (they were in a knife block) and had looked at the under the cabinet type storage, but none of them were big enough to fit all of my knives. This has worked out great.
Love this knife drawer insert. I have CUTCO knives and I hate a knife block on my counters. I don’t like extra things to clean. I don’t like clutter. I have recommend this to my mother and grandmother who also have CUTCO knives. My husband use the tablesaw for a perfect fit. Not all my knives are shown in this photo but I still have a few extra spots I can’t put them. I put my carving forks at the top of the drawer and they fit great
I love these Rev-A-Shelf products! It has saved me so much money. Instead of buying custom, I create my own custom. We just put in a brand new kitchen and I wanted some better organization that was "Built-in", or had the look and this was it. It was so easy to customize. Follow the directions and it turned out great! So glad my kitchen remodeler recommended this. So worth it!

This knife organizer is awesome! I kid knives everywhere in my kitchen. In drawers all over and in 2 knife blocks. I got rid of both knife blocks and made enough room in all my drawers to take my largest drawer for this knife organizer. It is really handy. Each knife has it’s own slot. It fits all styles of knives. I love it. I was worried I would have to cut it down to fit, but worked out perfectly.
Love rev a shelf products. This one is very nice. Base is maple ply. Everything on top is solid maple which is great. Only minor nitpick is this doesn't fit santoku or other tall knives as well as I would like. My 6.5" santoku rest forward and not on the rear rest. I guess I could do modifications to make it fit better but it all works good enough. I'm pretty ocd apparently but this doesn't bother me too much.
Love this knife rack. Our trash bin and spice drawer were all made by Rev-A-Shelf and are quality and expected the drawer inserts would be as well. We were not disappointed. I have installed many new drawer inserts in our new kitchen and we both think they're great. Of course, as the description states, they are "trim to fit."
Love this insert! Husband cut it down to accompany our flatware insert, slightly cut too much by mathematical error!
Otherwise we LOVE the insert, and a table saw as reccomended will get this custom fitted perfectly!
Perfectly matched our custom cabinets. Loved that we were able to trim to fit to suit our needs. This is a solidly built insert. Used painters tape when cutting as suggested to reduce splintering. We paired this with the tall wood utility tray drawer insert and it is love!
