I bought 2 of these Meadowsweet Kitchens Acrylic recipe boxes because my current box was overflowing. So what I did was divide my recipes...all my desserts and sweets went in one box and the other box for everything else. The "labels" which came with the box were not adequate to meet my needs so I purchased Labeleze 4 by 6 in. card dividers and my boxes are very well organized now. The boxes seem sturdy and are adequate to meet my needs. There is a slot on the lid to hold the recipe card, which is nice but not a requirement for my needs but it is nice to have if that is something of interest to you. I did not find them to be too expensive and I don't feel they are cheap quality at all. They will sit on my bookshelves with all my cookbooks.
I have been collecting recipes for over 40 years and they have accumulated in a large 3 inch binder, that is now pushing 6 inches. I have vowed to reduce my frequently used concoctions to the 4x6 whenever possible and accumulate them in a smaller space, this is the eventual repository of those gems. It is working so far and I hope to have it completed before i turn 100.
This is a very high quality product, is easy to use and will be a great addition to my kitchen. I have added the Labeleze 4-by-6-Inch Recipe Card Divider Set (see my other review) to the box and it fits and works perfectly. I do print my recipes on the 4x6 cards using my computer and printer so i have found that the Weatherbee 4/6 cards i purchased don't quite conform to the printing, because of the lines, however they are great for the hand written ones and i am addapting them to be printed.
This recipe box is exactly what I wanted. Simple design, just the right size, sturdy and attractive.
I was excited to receive this to put my essential oil recipes in.. I love it, however, I did take a star off because it arrived slightly damaged. The lid had one of the hinge pieces broken... thankfully I glued it and its held up great. It definately looks great and the fact that you can stand the receipe that you're working on, on top of the lid is a nice extra.
I absolutely love the recipe holder. It is made out of acrylic, holds lots of cards inside, and the best feature is the recipe holder at the top of the recipe box. I would definitely order this again as a birthday gift, wedding gift, bridal gift, etc. Who wants to hold a recipe when you can get the holder to hold it for you as you cook. Just place your index card through the slot at the top and use it from there. You will not be disappointed in this product at all.

I purchased this recipe box as a Christmas gift. But I removed it from the package for scrutiny. It's made of bamboo, which explains the higher cost. It will hold 3x5 or 4x6 cards. The 3x5 cards can always be stapled to the 4x6 cards for recipes already completed on 3x5 cards. I only gave the box 4 stars instead of 5 because the lid does not stay open which isn't the worst thing, but it would have made it a bit more convenient instead of having the lid banging against your knuckles while searching for a recipe.
Overall, I like it, and it's a nice looking box that you can leave it on your counter.
i really like these index card file boxes. I use them in my office, not kitchen. They look nice on my desk and I think I am more likely to use them because they are clear. They are sturdy and good quality.
I had so may recipes that I wanted to carry with me when traveling that I needed two boxes. No need to stop cooking when you are staying away from home 2-3 months at a time!!! We still have to eat and nothing better than home cooking!!
I love this recipe box! It's really big and holds a lot and the dividers that came with it are great. I haven't used it much, but its very solid and quality made! I would recommend this to others.
