Product can hold 12 plates but have to be normal type (we have square type and soup plates don't fit). Also space between plates isn't same and organizer with plates don't fit into shelf. So you have to take into consideration not only plates high but also plates+organizer high and if it fits into your shelf. I recommend it only for dessert and dinner plates. One rack arrived broken even though the package was excellent. Order came within range given by seller.
