In my quest to move some of the clutter off my kitchen counters, I bought this under-cabinet paper towel holder. I wanted something simple to install, easy to refill, and functional in terms of tearing off single towels.
The mounting hardware allows you to screw it into either the top of the cabinet, against the wall, or even behind the cabinet front molding. My cabinets have a deep recess underneath; I chose to go with the ceiling mount, so it would raise the paper towels as high as possible off the counter. I wasn't 100% sure about the position, so I decided to simply use a Command Strip on the mounting bracket to "test it out." Amazingly, the Command Strip worked perfectly and has held tight in position for almost a year!
Considering the way I mounted it, I worried that the largest sizes of paper towel would not fit, or would be hard to refill. Not true! We have used several different brands, even those jumbo rolls, and had no issues. Individual paper towels rip off easily as well. The picture below shows clearance when a regular-sized roll is used; the jumbo rolls come closer to the cabinet moulding but still have plenty of room to roll out.
I really like it and it truly is solid stainless steel (even the screws)
Mounted it on our kitchen cart. You can hang it against something, under something, and right or left opening.
I absolutely love this. It handles the big rolls of select a size bounty paper towel with ease. There is plenty of room for more. We hung it under the top cabinet, it does hang a little lower, but that is not a problem for us. I just wanted something that I could fit a big roll on and it definitely fits the bill for that. Looks great too. There was only one time that I leaned over and tore off a paper towel the opposite way that I normally do and the roll did come out of position, but it did not come off all of the way. No biggie, I was in a hurry and had a feeling that was going to happen, so I now know not to do that.
Followed another reviewer's suggestion to mount this underneath my upper cupboards but back towards the wall and I love it! Positioning it like that gives some drag to the papertowels so they don't just spin off into a big pile and so you can tear them off with one hand. The metal matches my kitchen.

This works well for our laundry room on the wall next to the sink. It can accommodate a bunch of size rolls since it’s hinges. So I can put jumbo rolls on or shop towel rolls or just cheap regular rolls and it adjusts to fit all. Just slide on a new roll and good to go. I bought the matching over the cabinet towel bar as well and they match perfect in satin nickel.
Perfectly fine for the price. It hangs a bit lower than I'd prefer, but overall it's good. I used a 3M command strip as mentioned by another reviewer and it has stayed in place so far without me having to drill holes. I have mine hung below a cabinet, which might be why it seems a little low. If you wall mount it, that won't be an issue. Two hands are necessary to keep it from unrolling, but I expected that. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase and it does what I need it to do.
Looks good, was easy to install and does what it says it would do. The only thing worth mentioning is the screws that come with it are to long to use if you plan to mount this on the underside of a cabinet. I had to cut and file down the screws so you wouldn't scratch yourself when reaching into the cabinet.
AMENDED 5/7/14 - If you want a paper towel holder that you want to tear off the towel with one hand, this is NOT the one for you You must hold the roll with one hand and tear with the other because the bar swings back and forth. That said, it is well made and attractive. I'm not sorry I bought it.
I love it. The design is great and sliding a roll on is as easy as it gets. I buy the jumbo rolls and no problems. The picture makes it look like it would hang much lower, but it's just right. A good buy for the money. I've gone through 3 of those $3 plastic ones. This one seems like it will be the last I buy for a long time.
I bought to put under cabinet but the screws were to long so I put in wall and makes it difficult to pull towels. Gave it 4 stars because it is what the discription says but not five because I have to buy shorter screws to put under cabinet.
