This is a great little invention. You have that little space behind the filler panels by the kitchen or bathroom sink that's perfect to tuck away those little things that you don't want to leave sitting out (drain stopper, sponge, toothpaste, etc.). I installed these at our last house and my wife said she really missed them in our new house. Got this set and 45 minutes later, they are installed in the kitchen. She loves it!
Instructions say to drill a pilot hole for each screw. I highly advise pilot holes. Helps avoid splitting the wood. Another thing that helped was running a screw into the pilot holes on the cabinet for the hinges. Then back the screws out to install the hinge. This made it much easier to then hold the spring-loaded hinge with one hand and twist the little screw in just enough with the other hand before reaching for the electric drill to run it all the way in.
This is exactly what I was looking for. They don't hold as much as those you get with custom cabinets, but they'll do the trick. I can fit a magic eraser and a scrubby pad in one and my smallest cleaning toothbrushes in the other. I didn't have trouble with the installation directions, but my false fronts are grooved to fit right into the opening, so they stick out funny and don't open/close smoothy. I'm going to have to place the hinges further back, or just replace the false fronts with something flush. I'll probably go with the second option because everything in our new home is going to need updated eventually.
OK install process. I knew it would be tricky drilling and screwing from under cabinet. It was, but overall I like these. They add space to small bathrooms and create a nice little spot for small objects that you might not want to leave out all the time.
I have wanted this for years! Now I can hide my sponges and make use of that useless space.
It was easy to install (but I had not yet installed the countertop over it so it could be a little more difficult for old construction conversions. The end result is spectacular! I love taking back that wasted space and using it for something productive. I cannot find any fault with this product. It is a thing of beauty!
