This type of rack is sold in lots of stores, most notably the giant discount megastore that starts with “W”. Their price is often lower than this brand name and it is a true case of you get what you pay for.
The ClosetMaid is constructed of a thicker more rigid grade of steel than the cheaper models I have used. What I especially like is that, rather than have fixed mounting holes on the rack itself like many of the cheaper units, this one comes with 4 heavy-duty nylon mounting clips than can be attached where and how the user needs them. This is important if you have panel doors on your cupboards (panel doors are the ones with a normal thickness wood frame which surrounds a thinner insert of wood in the center). The center portion of the wood on panel doors is much too thin to use mounting screws and most of the fixed hole type of racks won’t work with them.
Take a look at the photo I attached. Note that because the nylon mounting clips can be used anywhere I mounted them on the vertical side rails rather than on the horizontal rails like the instructions suggest. That way I can use them at the outer extremes of the rack and screw them into the much thicker wood frames of the doors.
IMPORTANT: if you mount them this way mount them with the screw hole facing outward and be sure to mount them right under the horizontal rails to get maximum support. Again the photo show what it would take lots of words to describe.
Another little hint is, note that I could have mounted the clips more toward the top. I didn’t because the smaller upper tray would normally be used for very light things like sponges and scouring pads. I mounted them lower to give maximum support to the lower tray which is more likely to be used to store heavier things in bottles.
Mounted this way, the ClosetMaid rack is very secure. It is the best of its type I have seen and the price is good. I like it and will be buying more of them.
I spent a long time reading reviews of wall racks before choosing this one. I bought three three-tier racks to hang on my pantry door, for a total of nine shelves. I used a level (from Home Depot for $2) to make sure that the racks were really straight. Based on other people's reviews, at Home Depot I also picked up a pack of hollow door anchors ("E-Z Ancor Hollow Door & Drywall Anchor" - a pack of 25 costs about $7; Amazon has them here: E-Z Ancor 1 in. Hollow Door and Drywall Anchors (25-Pack)), which turned out to be very easy to use, even though I am not very knowledgeable about tools. The screws that came with the hollow door anchors were too long and would have gone right through my pantry door and out the other side, so I used the hollow door anchors together with ClosetMaid's screws that came with the shelves. I was happily surprised to find that those fit together perfectly, so the racks ended up securely attached to the inside of my pantry door. They were easy to attach with just a pencil to mark where the screws would go, and a screwdriver. Tip: ClosetMaid's screws are designed to work with either a flat or a Phillips-head screwdriver. I originally used a flat screwdriver, but eventually figured out that it worked better with a Phillips-head, because the flat screwdriver kept slipping off the screw, while the Phillips-head screwdriver would stay in place because of its x shape.
The racks look fantastic!!! And I love how much storage space I have now.
One unexpected problem is that I kept walking into the corners of the racks and getting bruises. Eventually I bought a pack of Small Baby Edge Guard Corner Protectors, PreTaped 3M Adhesive, 12 Qty, Off White and put three of them on the shelves where I was bumping the most often. That worked great and solved the bruising problem.
I have an 18" wide pantry door so I needed something narrow. These worked perfectly for my spices.
This rack is great. It's sturdy and is exactly as described. Maybe they could have made more room between the bottom and top shelf so I could fit taller bottles on the bottom shelf. Overall I'm very happy and strongly recommend this. It come with short screws for cabinet drawers, and long ones with drywall anchors.
I purchased the 2 & 3 tier racks for my craft paint to organize over 100 bottles of paint. It keeps my craft room organized by getting all those bottles of paint out of my way and when I need they are above my desk. Holds well easy instillation!! Will buy more

Description
Add this 3-tier wire rack to the inside of cabinet doors or directly to walls for extra storage space. Store spices and other small containers in kitchen or pantry. Store small items in garage or laundry room.
These are great wall racks. I take two of these and turn them around so that the open ends face each other and then attach them to each other with 1/4" wire rope clamps. That way I end with three baskets that hold a lot of things without worrying about too much falling out. I then attach them to the sides of metal shelving racks using the ends of the wire baskets secured with nuts, bolts & fender washers. It's very sturdy and holds lots of office supplies and tools. We've made four sets of these baskets and they are indispensable.
I have way too many products to fit in my small bathroom closet. My husband ordered two of the 2-tier racks for me a few months ago. I filled them up fast. They are easy to hang, stable, hold a good amount of items, and are coated so they won't rust. I needed even more shelf space in the bathroom so I ordered two of the 3-tier racks last week. He just finished hanging them. They are the same great quality. This is a much less expensive option than regular shelves that works just as well, if not better. I am very happy with both purchases (4 racks total) and I would definitely recommend the ClosetMaid wall racks.
This is the only cabinet door mounted organizer that works with my vanity and it’s excellent. It holds extra rolls of toilet paper, holds all the packs of face makeup remover cloths and back up containers with cotton balls and cleaning stuff. Excellent quality, simple to use and remove to reuse elsewhere or if you move. Highly recommend! I just ordered three more!
I love this product. What a great idea and very useful product. I moved into an apartment with virtually no counter top space or cabinet storage space whatsoever so these shelves accommodate my needs for spices and condiments perfectly! I couldn't be happier! Great buy for the price and serve the purpose of what I need them for perfectly. Took all of 15 minutes to screw to the walls.
Very sturdy and easy to install if you take your time and use measuring tape and level when placing the drywall anchors. I do wish these things would be designed to be 16" wide for mounting, so I could screw them right into the studs.
Racks are very sturdy. A nice addition to my pantry wall.
