Easy to assemble (about 10 minutes). Feels very sturdy. The over-the-door hooks are metal and keeps the rack from lifting off the door when opening/closing. I did hook a zip tie around the doorknob and basket though. Baskets are 7 inches deep, 16 inches wide. The rack itself is 18 inches wide.
I've seen a few reviews that talk about how hard it was to put together and that it falls apart when loaded down with a bunch of heavy items. This rack was SUPER easy to put together after looking at the instructions (i know, who reads instructions??) and I didn't need a single tool. I currently have it loaded up with about 50 bottles of hot sauce (picture in the customer pictures) and it probably is around 10-15 lbs. I will say that it does feel like it's not made to be loaded down with canned goods and jars of pickles and heavy things like that. It definitely has no problem holding what I have and i'm sure it could hold double what I have in there with no problem, but I wouldn't put more than 5lbs per shelf. I think it's a great rack and is sturdy for a door hanger. It fits together snugly with only a tiny bit of wiggle where the top half of the rack fits to the bottom half. The shelves are very solid in their fit. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I think it's a tad over priced. I feel that this is a $30-$40 rack. Even at $40 I would have given 5 stars, but $50 is a bit steep. Still, I bought it and it works well looks good, and doesn't flop around when I open/close the pantry door. I definitely recommend it if you want to use it for light items (again 5lbs or less per shelf, 30lbs or less total). If you want to load it down with heavy stuff, this is not the rack for you.
I love it, so simple to put together!!! Wide plastic shelves. Had a wire one before and had all kinds of trouble with it!!!! Definitely buy this!!!! Held it to door with two hooks, look at picture!
This item was purchased to replace an inferior product that we had been using to hold spices and such on the inside of our pantry door. The other product was constantly coming off and swaying away from the door. With the previous product, items were always precariously at risk of falling and breaking whenever the door was opened. That being said...the purpose of ordering this product was to eliminate those problems.
First, let me say that this product took less than 5 minutes to install--and that time included breaking open the box!
Second, installation onto the door was super easy--no worries about damaging or marring the pantry door. Big PLUS!
Now, let's talk about how it works...
With this product, you want to place your heavier items/load the shelves closer to the top heavier than those shelves on the bottom.
Once we did that--WoW!! There is no sway with opening the door. The items stay on the shelves. I haven't had to reposition anything for fear it will fall off the shelf! HUGE Plus!!
The unit has stayed in place for over two weeks with constant opening and closing of the pantry door (I have multiple teenagers in my house...)
My engineer husband LOVES this product!!
I highly recommend it
I purchased this item because I just moved from having a huge kitchen with a custom made spice rack to a small galley kitchen. My large bottle spices were taking up to much room in the cabinets. Further, I had to put bottles in front of each other making finding the spice I needed a pain in the butt. I saw this and took a chance that the space in between the shelves was enough to hold my large spice bottles. Thank God they were large enough - took me less than an hour to install - very happy with it - mounted beautifully to the wall !!

I saw a lot of people saying the pieces come backwards on the reviews, but once I got it I realized that I think they just put it together backwards. If you're not paying attention, you can attach the pieces so that the drawers are technically upside down. So I suggest just laying out the pieces as if you were putting them together first, to prevent the confusion. Or they could be right and there may be a bad batch of them out there, but mine worked fine.
As for the quality, this is a much more stable over-the-door shelf unit than others I've had in the past. The shelves are deep enough that most things fit in quite snugly. I keep all kinds of bottles, large and small, tall and short, and I never have a problem with them falling out or anything. I would really have to slam the door for that to happen. The parts are good, thick plastic that snap into place tightly and don't wiggle.
Couldn't ask for more!
I bought this product from the warehouse for a new apt to store laundry stuff. Unfortunately, for the first time, the product was not sold as advertised (like new): two of the baskets were broken on the short sides which made them useless as baskets for things other than socks or dryer balls. But, I didn't really need the space anyway so it worked out for me. I used the broken baskets in drawers because they are low profile and was able to store my detergent on the door. I am happy with the product, but even at $30 it feels a little overpriced.
Pros:
Super easy assembly
Does not interfere with door closure or knob
6 baskets
Doesn't swing when I open the door.
Because they are baskets the hangar does not need to be secured to door to keep things from falling out. (this is great for an apartment)
Cons/needs improvement:
I wish the plastic was harder/more durable
The positions are fixed so items can't be tall or you sacrifice storage space for taller items.
It definitely feels overpriced. I imagine a $20 pricetag would still return a good investment for the manufacturer.
Love, love, love this! I first bought the $20.00 vinyl covered steel storage rack, sooo cheap and floppy. The baskets didn't have backs and you had to open and close the door really slow or it wouldn't stay in place. I'm so glad I choose to spend a little more on this one. I returned the other one and set this up. It fit way more than the other one and is way more sturdy. I don't know why everybody is complaining about how to put it together, its not that hard at all and there's pictures showing you how to do it. The baskets are not adjustable, but that was not a problem for me, all my spices fit perfect. I thought the basket on top would be annoyingly high, but its actually perfect for the spices I don't use as often. (The door closes with that tell spice container in the picture) I did put two 3M command hook stickers on the two bottom parts that hit the door for added stability. Not 100% necessary because its a pretty stiff rack, but I had them on hand.
I put this on the door of my linen closet for extra storage. It is a sturdy unit but for it to be stable I also anchored it by using those removable sticky things that you hang pictures on with. I angled them sideways on each side of the unit so it would be "pulled" in two directions thus stabilizing it so it wouldn't budge when the door was opened. I put about two sets of them on and that unit clings to the door as if it was built onto it! I like this one as the basket goes around the entire shelf not just on three sides as others do counting on the door to be the fourth side. Also, it holds a lot! I am very happy with this purchase. If I did not do that stabilizing trick I would not be happy with it.
This item turned out to be very functional! I use it to store my containers to keep leftovers etc. I can keep the bottoms and tops together! If I had to live another day with tops and bottoms all over the place, not being able to find the ones that go together, I was going to scream! I was afraid it would take up too much room in the small space I had, but it was fine and I actually don't mind it hanging on the door of my 133 year old Victorian home with the original wood.
