I'm not sure why other people seemed to have had some problems with these, because they work great for me! The magnets stay stuck nice and tight to the fridge and the lids stay on snugly. The tins are each rather full of spices and I have no problems with them slipping at all. My only real complaint is that it can be hard to get the spices to pour out of the larger opening because it all gets stuck in there and has trouble getting past the "roadblock," but since most spice containers have this issue, it's not a big deal.
I do have a couple of pro-tips if you find you are experiencing either tin-slide or loose lids:
1) If you are experiencing tin-slide, do not put the tins too close together on the fridge. Because they are magnetic, they will repel each other! This may be why some people experience the tins sliding when they shut the door. The magnets are repelling one another slightly and the additional motion from the door closing may be enough to cause them to slide apart. To keep mine where I put them, I have about 1/2 inch between each tin.
2) For loose-fitting lids, there is an easy solution. (If I'm honest, 90% of the lids that came in my shipment were looser than I would like; but I snugged them right up!) If a lid is loose, simply take the tin with the lid off and *gently* pull outward on the edges just a bit. It will deform the metal just barely enough to ensure a good fit for the lid. Don't pull too hard, or else your circle will turn into an oval or worse! Just pull a little bit, and then test the lid. If it's still not tight enough, take it off and pull a little more. You don't even want to be able to see the tin changing shape. It should still look like a circle. Hope this helps those with loose lids!
**Edit**: So I learned something interesting about these tins today. Apparently, ground clove does not play nicely with the finish! All my other spices do fine, but there was a blackish corrosion-like chemical reaction going on between the finish over the metal and whatever chemicals are in the clove. I've cleaned the tin and will see whether a further reaction occurs or whether it is fine now that the finish has been taken off by the clove. Either way, the tins still work great, but those who want to store clove may want to be aware of this apparent reaction.
We bought two sets and they work great. We used them with this label set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015WBFHNG/ We were surprised at how much each canister holds. They hold more than most upright spice jars.
I have been dealing with a three shelf, narrow but deep spice cabinet since I moved into this house four years ago and I hate it. Every time I need to grab something other than the front spices, EVERYTHING has to come out. And I like spices. I have a lot of spices. I bought one of these to try out and it's amazing. Sorry... AMAZING.... the tops are tight but still manage to come off and on easily and the clear windows let you see what you're running low on with just a glance. There's also a shake and pour opening if you don't want to take the tops off. The stickers are nice too, saves me the hassle of making up my own labels. I've put them on the side of the fridge and the low profile of the tins keeps them from getting in your way. The magnets are strong enough that they don't slip down and feel firmly attached. I can't wait to buy more and then just have the liquid extracts and such in the cabinet. I think they say the containers hold 3 oz but that's liquid ounces. Spices are a lot lighter so it's probably more like 1.5oz or so. (That's a standard bottle plus a little extra depending on the spice).
If you're looking for a storage solution for your spice cabinet woes.... try this out, you won't be disappointed.
UPDATE: I bought two more sets of these and one of the sets is well.... a little off. The bottoms are not quite flat so the magnet doesn't sit totally flush. They also aren't quite as polished. The metal looks a little scratchy. Also, when I washed the lids, water got in between the plastic and the metal and was a huge pain to dry. They still are working well, and are so convenient, but quality control drops the rating. To be fair, I'd give the "off" set two stars and the other two sets five.
The product camempckaged nicely with cardboard, plastic, and tissue paper protecting each jar. Both label packages were also delivered.
I did not wash the jars before use because many reviewers had issues with rust and water gathering in the lids.
The tops work well, and I found they were very easy to put on/off. This is coming from someone who sucks at opening jars.
The jars fit a ton of spice inside! More than I expected. I'm a little worried about my celery seed jar because I think I overfilled it. Now the jar feels strange when it goes on/off my fridge, but there are no issues with the product itself. No bumps on the jar or magnet.
When I started sticking these on the side of my fridge, I worried they wouldn't hold. I jumped around my kitchen like a madwoman attempting to knock them off, and they stayed exactly where I'd placed them. The magnets are very strong!
Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and I recommend it to anyone looking to save some space in their kitchen.
One tip: when you put your labels on your tops, make sure the holes to pour and shake spices out are at the top. That way you can make sure your spices won't fall out!
My family cooks a lot and we had two drawers jammed full of spices and it was always a pain to find them. These magnetic spice tins are amazing. We have them stuck to the side of our fridge and it's such a nice, colorful, off-the-counter way to store them. I don't have to dig through drawers anymore to find what I'm looking for, and it makes me remember that we have spices when I'm cooking something without a specific recipe. We started out by ordering 2 sets, and just purchased a third. They are high-quality, visually appealing, and just all-around awesome.

We recently moved to a new (for us) home, and there's not as much cabinet space as we would like. My daughter found this product online, the perfect way to save cabinet space by mounting spices on the cabinet door. We ordered (separately) a thin metal plate that we screwed on the inside of the cabinet door. Then we got these magnetic spice tins that "stick" to the plate. Now when we open the cabinet door - voila! - there are the spices right there, ready to go into whatever delightful dish my wife and/or daughter happen to be cooking up. The magnets are quite strong - it's not hard to remove one of the tins for use, but they stay right where we put them. We like it so much that we just ordered another set of 12. (We are a very "spicy" family.) Highly recommended!
This review is based on my first impression of the item labelled "12 Magnetic Spice Tins with Wall Plate Racks & 2 Types of Spice Labels by Talented Kitchen. 12 Storage Magnet Spice Containers, Window Top w/Sift-Pour. 3 Metal Wall Base. 240 Preprinted Spice Stickers" at https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DFM9ZYQ
At first, I could not decide whether to select the option with/out the wall plate racks. Then I remembered seeing Alton Brown's spice tins on the inside of his cupboards on the show Good Eats and I wanted to "get me some of those".
TIP: Skip the wall plate racks if you can use the side of your refrigerator.
The item price changed a couple of times while it was in my cart (I tend to keep items in my cart and purchase at particular intervals). At the time of this writing, the cost is more than $7 higher two weeks after I placed my order.
TIP: Watch for price variations, as price increases are notable.
I liked the compact packaging which had each tin in its individual compartment and wrapping. The wall plate racks all had their separate wrapping. I washed the tins and lids separately in warm soapy water and placed on a rack to dry (air flow above and underneath). Having read a previous review about water collecting in the lids, I checked after a few minutes and realised this was indeed the case. I shook the excess from each lid and was surprised at the amount that was cleared. On closer inspection, there is soap water still trapped. I will leave lids on the drying rack for another 24 hours and see how they fare.
The product was also shipped with:
1) a magnetic measuring conversion chart
2) chalkboard spice labelling set (stickers)
3) clear spice labelling set (stickers) with text that matched the chalkboard type and
4) circular adhesives
TIP: Conversion chart's magnetic grip works fine in original transparent wrapping.
TIP: Chalkboard labels will obscure the view of spice through the clear section of the lid.
I placed the empty tins on the side of the refrigerator and the magnetic grip was strong. There is nothing to indicate the magnetic grip will weaken once spices/dried herbs are placed in the tins.
I will update this review after the product is in use and advise of any workarounds or further development to the water collection issue.
TIP: Do not discard the original packaging box early as it would be good storage for any unused tins.
2018-10-07 Update
================
I increased the rating to 4 stars as the water that collected in the lids had evaporated overnight and I decided I could live with it. It's no different from air drying dishes overnight.
I haven't had these tins long, but so far they are perfect for what I needed. I moved into a new home that is short on storage space, so where can I store all my many little spice jars? These tins came to the rescue, because they stick to the side of my refrigerator, thereby saving shelf space. They look very pretty too, and you can arrange them in different patterns. The colors show through the lids, because the included labels are clear, allowing the different colors and shapes of spices to show through. The lid fits just right. It isn't hard to get off, but it doesn't just fall off either. You can twist the lid for shaking or pouring if you don't want to dip and measure the amount. A big point for me was that they hold the entire amount that you get when you buy a small jar of spice. These do that easily. There are many labels included, so I don't have to print my own. Compared to other brands that I saw on the web, this was the best value, and I am so far very happy with them.
We love these for our small kitchen with very little storage space! The second set we ordered was very rusted but I had no problem with the return process. I then ordered another second set that was fine.
Helpful hint - you can pop the plastic out to wash and dry the tin and plastic properly, and then pop it back in.
These are absolutely awesome! I live in a small apartment with a non-existent pantry so I was using one of my cabinets for spices. It wasn't the best way to use my limited cabinet space so I had been trying to figure out how to reorganize. I had previously bought wall-mounts that had inserts for the spice jars, but over time, they got loose and every time I opened door, spices would fall out. I did some research and chose the item with the best reviews! Thanks for not letting me down ! There is a cheaper alternative that looks similar, but there were many iffy reviews. You definitely won't go wrong with these ! Well worth the price! I have accidently dropped them and no spills or breakage.
As other viewers have mentioned, if you are placing these on your fridge, make sure the openings are upwards, just in case you don't close them properly. I will definitely been ordering more!
p.s. it makes cooking a breeze. Just grab what you need, use and return back to fridge. The 2 different label styles were convenient. I was unsure if all of my spice names would be there, but they sure were ! Even anise !
