I purchased both Simplehuman & Household Essentials pull-out drawers for use in my kitchen cabinets.
Both Brands have benefits & drawbacks:
Simplehuman Pros:
Price- $10 cheaper than comparable Household Essentials drawer.
Style/design- Modern & functional with solid (plastic) yet removable drawer bottom + adjustable dividers.
Easy install.
Simplehuman Cons:
Drawer stability is almost flimsy & only practical for light weight items. Canned food & jars at-most.
----
Household Essentials Pros:
Commercial grade hardware capable of supporting pots, pans etc..
Extremely sturdy with drawer extension limiter.
Household Essentials Cons:
Price- $10 more than comparable Simplehuman drawer
More difficult to install due to better hardware requiring more screws.
---
I actually like both drawers & intentionally purchased them based on specific areas of my kitchen.
Hot Tip:
Before purchasing your pull-out drawer & while measuring your cabinets specs..
Imagine yourself--- wedged w/head-in-cabinet, knees & back getting sore, attempting to drill pilot holes (for drawer rails) in the
very back of cabinet.
Cabinet shelves without much headroom really took the FUN out of my drawer installation experience!!
I have four of these and am saving to buy more. They are very durable and slide completely out to reveal what is in the depths of my 23" deep cabinet. HOWEVER...installation, while not difficult is tricky with the basket. If the basket would slide OFF the gliders the job would be much easier. My husband installed these for me in my cabinets. In my tall cabinets (see image gallery) it wasn't so difficult, but getting into a cabinet with only 12" height to screw down the gliders was frustrating.
Still--we're getting more, so it isn't too frustrating. :)
Only thing I can say is how great these shelves are! I bought 3, and the quality is absolutely fantastic! They slide like a dream, are very very strong. I can see these lasting way way longer than the cabinet they are inside of lasting and the cabinets are heavy oak! Took 5 minutes to install, and they only install from the bottom which is great! So if you are on the fence, please believe me, I am the cheapest, most careful person when it comes to wasting a dollar, but these are worth every penny!! Such a great great item, and my life is a hundred percent better now! I can pull out my shelf now to see what I have. More fits, I'm organized, what more can I say? Fantastic item!
This is a very nice product. The drawers glide smoothly and it is sturdy. Also, very important, it has a full extension slide. Fairly easy to install. I am a woman who is not mechanically inclined and I installed these myself. Didn't need hubby to help me! I have bought a few of these in different sizes. Some for my mom too and she loves them. I installed hers too and I am getting pretty good at this now. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. No more getting down on my hands and knees to try and pull something out in the back of the cabinet behind a bunch of other stuff that I would have to take out first!!
I just installed this well-made, heavy-duty product. It is beautiful chrome and appears indestructible. Before installing, make sure the flat "feet" of this organizer are FLAT. One of the feet on my organizer was bent upwards. I had to hammer both sides down before installing, or there would have been big trouble. There are six, two-sided feet on the bottom. Each has two larger screw holes and two smaller holes. I received only 12 screws in the package. It was fortunate that I had a several others at home, saved from other projects. I'm using this for my pantry and this large, extra-deep product really houses my canned goods in an orderly fashion. Now the cans have a nice, new home. I am pleased.

Glidez organizers install to the bottom of the cabinet with screws (hardware included). with chrome finish on the steel glides, this sliding wood organizer is a perfect addition to bathroom cabinets and kitchen cabinets. The single basket, 1-tier organizer is 6"H x 11.5"W x 21"D. Please measure cabinet interiors and opening to determine fit.
We have used both Rev-a-Shelf and Household Essentials products. Both are excellent however I believe these pullouts from Household essentials are a slightly better value. They are heavier duty products at a slightly lower price. I have purchased several and all have been very high quality and easy to install. This simply requires you to drill a number of pilot holes and put in the screws. One issue I had was that for some reason they did not give me enough screws to go in every place. This isn't really a problem since I think the number of screws possible is overkill however if you have 12 possible screw holes then you should get 12 screws. That being said these are VERY heavy and strong items. You don't have to worry about them being able to hold heavy pans and other items.
My cabinets are deep, about 24" so with my short arms it's a problem getting to items in the dark recesses. Since installation, I can fill the entire cabinet and am pleased to report also able to retrieve all items. The basket rolls most of the way out, unlike with other brands where this is not the case. I like that this is heavy duty as I expect it to last longer than I own the place. I put all the heavy stuff in these baskets - all the large ceramic cooking and mixing bowls (stacked/ nested), sauce and liquids that do not need refrigeration (vinegars, oils, soy, sesame you name it).
I installed one, then a second, and have yet to do a third. I have not yet committed to the double wide version - which means both cabinet doors need to open. I do not have a pantry in this galley kitchen, so all the non-refridgerated kitchen items and gadgetry are in cabinets.
Installation wasn't too bad with power tools; use several flashlights, a ruler, pen to mark the places to drill, and as someone mentioned you can disconnect the baskets from the base since you're working in limited space. You lose an inch or two from the rollers and basket, but you gain a lot from accessing the rear cabinet.
Highly recommended.
Wow do we love these. So much easier for our pantry items as things don't get lost at the back of the shelves. My 15 year old grandson installed them. He first put them in and marked the holes. Then took it out and used a punch to get the holes started. Next he unscrewed the railes from the basket, screwed the rails in place in the cupboard and then put the basket back in and screwed the basket back in place. They work great. Very solid and well built.
This is very heavy duty and works well. It does hold quite a bit and you do have to watch the overall weight in the thing. It went in pretty easy using small screws to attach to the floor of cabinet. I don't have open cabinets and had to work from under a fixed shelf. If you have this problem, simply use a right angle drill bit holder (Company called Milwaukee makes a nice one) and it will go in as easy as it could. Overall a very nice sliding drawer, just be sure to measure properly and leave a 1/4" or so on each side of opening for door. I rarely give 5 stars, but this is close...
These units are sturdy and convenient. They offer full extension slides, so that you can pull the unit all the way out to the point where the rear is only a bit over an inch back from the front of the slides. They need to be mounted on sturdy shelves that will not flex or tilt when the organizer is loaded and fully open. It is best to place the units where one desires to mount them, mark the holes accurately, and then remove and drill pilot holes for the screws. I installed two units above each other, removing the top shelf to allow for easier drilling of both. The shelves sit 1.5 inches above the surface on which the unit is mounted, so keep that in mind when planning what will be stored on them.
My particular units were "open box" - apparently returned by someone. If there are similar available be aware that there may be "surprises" - one of mine had some missing screws and the other had some of the mounting legs bent slightly. Both problems were easily resolved and well worth the significant savings.
