Meadowsweet Kitchens Collected Recipes Cookbook, Botanical Treasures design

I purchased this book to organize loose recipe cards and magazine cut-outs and I love it. Be sure to read what it is you are getting because there seem to be different configurations. My book came only with the pocketed dividers and the magnetic sheets. I ordered recipe card holders separately. You can also order full page protectors that you slide a recipe into as well as matching recipe cards. This is a standard 3 ring binder and any sheets or dividers for a letter sized 8.5 x 11 notebook will fit it which will make buying new dividers and pages easy to find in the future. The included dividers are a plastic coated card stock which will wipe clean. There are 8 pre-printed categories: appetizers/soups, salads/vegetables, meats, fish/seafood, poultry, pasta/grains, desserts/breads, cakes/cookies. I found the categories a little weird and will be making my own stickers to change them. For example, I would never put bread recipes in a dessert section, and I see no reason to divide meats and poultry but I could use some extra dessert type of dividers. The book is big enough to hold the included dividers, magnetic sheets, the 15 extra recipe card sheets that I ordered (which will hold a total of 60 recipe cards up to 4"x6" each - 4 cards per sheet), a few full sheet protectors, plus all my recipes but that is about it. I would not be able to add additional dividers or sheets without "over stuffing" the book. If you have more recipes than that it would be better to buy a second book. One book however, does hold A LOT. I thought I might need two books but one is going to hold everything (all of my saved recipes for 20 years) plus give me plenty of space for future recipes. I was careful not to put too many recipes on each magnetic page. You want plenty of the "stickum" around each recipe so that the page stays closed. The botanical cover is pretty and is also printed on the inside with measurement equivalents and tips. The book is sturdy enough and I have no problem with the three rings fitting together as in some reviews that I've read. I doubt it would take much abuse but since I don't abuse my books I don't anticipate any problems .

First of all, I LOVE the design of this binder which is the main reason that I bought it--I didn't find any others that were comparable. The reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I feel the price is just a bit too high and I'm not sure that the included self-adhesive pages will stand the test of time. I have old photo albums with similar pages that have not held up well. I would prefer to use archival-quality sheet protectors and that is likely what I will use instead of the included pages. I do like the handy pocket on each of the dividers--very clever and a wonderful way to hold onto a recipe until you have a chance to test it to see if it gets to earn a permanent place in the binder. I'm looking forward to gathering up all of the various sizes of recipes that I've collected over the years and finally having them organized in one beautiful, organized cookbook!

This recipe holder has a wonderful cover which is why I bought it. The book will open flat on a surface which is good for recipes or the individual pages can be removed for use. There are a few pocket pages for random recipes and then some pages similar to ones used for photographs. The plastic sheeting is lifted and the recipe is place under the sheet. The stiffness of the sheet and plastic cover will protect the recipe. The difficulty I had was that a standard 8x11sheet of paper is too large to fit under the plastic sheet so that the inside of the plastic sheeting sticks to the page and holds the recipe in place. I had to cut down the inside edge of all my recipes. This is only a problem if using the standard 8x11 sheet. Smaller recipes cut from various sources would fit. I had to immediately purchase additional sheets which I bought in an art store.

I really like the design and quality of the binder. I like the pocket on each of the dividers so that I can hold onto a recipe until I try it out. The main reason I chose this binder is because it has the divided sheets that will hold four recipes on each side and also sheets that I can store my page size recipes that I've printed off of the internet and also the different sized recipes that I've cut from my magazines. I also bought recipe cards to use as needed. Now I have one place to look for a recipe that I want to use instead of looking three different places like I did before.

At first I thought it was to big. I wanted something to replace the old one that I had which was a lot smaller. But after using it I think the bigger size is a plus because I can fit whole pages from magazines in it. I also like the eight pockets which can hold recipes that I am thinking of trying but haven't gotten to yet. Plus I recently ordered more of the index cards which match the cover and slip in nicely with some plastic sleeves I found on Amazon. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and my recipe book is coming along nicely.

Description

Turn a drawer full of recipe clippings into a functional cookbook with this 3 ring binder that includes 8 pocketed dividers with categories and 36 two sided magnetic pages that hold hundreds of recipes.

I really searched around and read reviews before choosing this one. My husband LOVES to cook and has recipes written on everything from napkins to torn pieces of paper. I used the pages that came in this book along with 3-hole punched plastic sleeves that I bought extra to create an organized book for him. I love the cover and illustrations. A perfect fit. I was very happy with my choice.

The Meadowsweet Kitchens Botanical Treasures recipe binder was purchased as a birthday gift for my sister. She loves the design and soft color palette. The binder's 8.5 x 11-inch format accommodates clear heavy-weight sheet protectors which I also purchased at an office supply store. To complete the gift, I gave her my all-time best recipes. The binder includes eight tab dividers that allow the user to organize recipes into standard categories.

Met and exceeded my expectations. Nice sturdy pretty binder. The section pages are nicely labeled with pockets for those awkward recipes. The pages included peel back then adhere to hold all size recipes.
I also ordered extra clear non-adhesive pages to slide 8 1/2 X 11 printed recipes into
Just ordered a second binder for my next phase of recipes.

This is a great book, fits full page recipes and has dividers. I threw out the pages that came with it as they take up too much room and don't seem to serve any useful purpose.

This is the second one I have and have given them as gifts many years ago. I like the ability to have different size recipes.
