I bought this utensil holder after I got tired of using cups and pots for utensil holders in my kitchen. I knew I wanted something large, and this (and the other, squarer OXO holder) both look like they'd fit the bill. I went with this one because I liked the way it looked better. Like with most OXO products, it's well designed--it looks great, feels sturdy, and works well for its intended purpose. You can even take it apart (the bottom "drip tray" comes off) to clean it. This fits all of my utensils with room to spare--it is more spacious than I anticipated, even after reading the dimensions before I bought it. But who would complain about having too much storage? Not me in my kitchen. If you only want to hold a few utensils and don't want to spend the money for this one, however, keep looking. But if you're trying to find a nice-looking, large, well-designed utensil holder, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
BEST utensil holder out there. I have looked high and low for a utensil holder that can hold all of my utensils of large size and this one finally did the trick! It can hold even more than I have in it.
Strategically loaded, this holds 30 utensils or maybe even more. All are accessible and visible. Glad I traded the round one in for this model. It doesn't tip no matter how much you put in it - tall or short, thick or thin, all your tools will fit within reason. I have 30 spatulas, strainers of every type, spatulas, tongs, mashers and beaters. They all fit nicely and in an orderly manner. Nice satin stainless finish, heavy weight with a plastic or hard rubber bottom that keeps everything on solid ground. I consolidated 2 holders into just this one which saves a lot of room.
Loved it, especially the 3 compartments. They kid of organize the utensils into function. The oval design let me place it against the back of the counter and leave more room in front. The brushed stainless is elegant and unobtrusive. The base is wide enough and the whole bucket tall enough so nothing falls out or tip over. It fits quite a lot of utensils in it, more than I thought it would. (And I have a lot of utensils. Still adding more.)
It’s perfect for holding my frequently used kitchen tools. I gave it four stars because I could not remove several marks where the label was located. It is not a major problem because I simply rotated the holder so the marks are hidden on the backside. I used Dawn dish detergent and then alcohol to remove the marks to no avail.

Have been running low on space for quite some time as far as all my kitchen utensils go. Did some research on the larger holders, and was not disappointed one bit with my choice. Actually ordered 2 of these, and I am glad I did now. Didn't want too many items jam packed into one holder and it worked out really well. There is no overcrowding. The 3 divided sections worked out well. The shape of this holder vs a round one is a big plus in my opinion. Put a total of 13 utensils in one of them. I have quite a few OXO products and have been quite pleased with them so far. They look like they will last quite a long time.
I like this because its oval shaped and fits in my kitchen counter better than the round ones. It holds a lot of tools and I especially like that its not too tall (on each end) so that the smaller tools don't get lost in the mix!
We moved into a new house with less drawer space than we were used to, so I bought this to hold all my cooking spoons etc, which otherwise took up a whole drawer.... and all of them fit into this one holder!
Easy to find items, I like the fact that smaller items can be put in the corners.
They also make a rotating utensil holder which might work better for some people, but that is all the same height.
I continue to be pleased and impressed with all of the OXO products.
I previously had the circular utensil holder and it was attractive and did the job, but the oblong accommodates my utensils better (I have a lot of big grips utensils). I'm very glad that I switched.
I was really excited to receive this utensil holder - I like how it has the 3 dividers and I have a lot of utensils that I like to keep on hand so this seemed like a great solution to jamming them into a small holder. So I was right, all of the above apply, and it looks really cute on the counter.
The only problem is I'm not sure why they tape the OXO label to the front of the holder?? It left 4 tape shaped marks, it took me a couple rounds of goof off, dishwashing and then finally magic eraser to make it look decent. I almost returned but I liked the holder too much!
