The old plastic one broke under the weight of too much cast iron. We put the cast iron in the bottom oven drawer and adjusted the bottom shelf of this up 12 inches from cabinet floor. ( not possible with old plastic one). Now the 9 x 13 baking pans that don't fit well on a round lazy Susan are on floor of cabinet and we have two twirling shelves for bowls and stuff. Thanks to the other reviewers helpful instructions the installation was pretty easy. I like the metal as it lets the light down so you can see what's on the bottom shelves. It seems nice and sturdy, though we will avoid cast iron on it. The instructions are good for a chuckle. Nice unit.
We installed our new one yesterday! I have all metal pull out lower shelves, now I have this lovely Lazy Susan! We replaced one that was 35 years old, and the center broke. This one has nylon turing turning parts. I love that is this wired, with nice high sides to hold items in place, rather than items flying off and then trying to fish them out! I loaded mine up when done, and it is strong...very pleased! My husband is very mechanical, so we didn't bother to use the instructions, just studied the mechanics before installing, making sure we had thought it through, with contingencies to consider.
We bought this to better utilize the space in our corner cabinet. My husband is a mechanical engineer and is very handy, so it didn't take him too long to install it. However, it wasn't the easiest to install. We've been very pleased with it! It's been durable and our cabinet is a lot more organized!
Good solid product. Could have used some basic instructions/warnings like "If installing on an already assembled cabinet enclosure make sure all parts are loaded on to the main pole before screwing in the base as you will not have the clearance to add the top portion of the pipe after the fact". Needless to say I needed to unscrew the base and start over. Box comes with no instructions at all but it's not hard to figure out if you've never installed one.
In my view, it is the best organizer for a corner kitchen cabinet. Have it installed in my home for a decade and recommended to my friend. She agreed and it took me about two hours to install it as I wanted to remove the corner cabinet shelf first. There are some video tutorials on youtube and many who installed lazy susan themselves suggest leaving the shelf inside but I decided to buy a jigsaw to get an extra inch of space. Had to be a bit more careful at the end so not to push a back cabinet panel a bit. Things are easily accessible now and there is plenty of room in corners to keep a strategic reserve of tall Quaker Oats packages.

Great quality and very solid construction… This thing is really large… It will fit inside of a standard 24 inch CORNER cabinet, provided that you have at least a 9 inch door on one side, and at least a 12 inch door on the other… Having both sides (door areas) both be 12 inches would be preferable so that the spindle could be right at the intersection… However you can place this further back with the combination I specified....HOWEVER, in doing so, you will need to make one side door thicker to accommodate the extra space....but you could make that into a mini shelf of sorts.
Anyway, it is definately best to have 12 inches on each door front (at right angles to each other).
As other reviewers said, you need to be handy to install this, as the directions are poorly translated (from Mandarin, maybe?). Another thing to be aware of is the quality of the steel pole and the welds that fix it to the top/bottom plates. One of the spot welds on the bottom plate popped as I was dry-fitting the assembly. Nothing a little JB Weld can't fix, but again, it takes a handy person to troubleshoot.
While I haven't directly compared this to the Rev A Shelf version, I'm guessing the major quality comparison is in the gauge of the main pole, the welds, and support hardware. Again, not bad, but it's why this is half the competitor's price.
I had to cut the old shelf in half to get it out. That must have been put in when they assembled it at the factory. I used a level to try to get it perfectly vertical and I still couldnt get it right ro match my measurements. So I screwed it down between the two, good enough. The instructions are lacking, no doubt, but this isnt rocket science... put it together on your kitchen table and then reassemble in your cabinet.
Wonderful product, strong and durable. Installation instructions are not helpful, must have mechanical problem solving skills to figure out installation without proper directions. But well worth it, once you have it in. Because you are working with limited space inside the cabinet, you must first semi mount the pole, then get selves in, tilt pole on angle to get the selves on and then finish mounting the rest of the screws for the pole. I added additional screws for stability, comes with 8, but has holes for 16.
Works great, it sags a little from the weight towards the back at times, but I shop at Costco and am sure I prob have too much weight on there, but its lasted a year, was easy to install and organized a space that was not maximized to highest potential before.
