Exactly what I wanted. Fit my drawer nicely and holds all my knives. Seems well made. I looked at so many of these on here and feel reading all the details and going through the reviews paid off. Some previous customers commented that the actual size was slightly wider than 7" so I expected to have to shave it off a bit to fit my exactly 7" wide drawer. I was excited when it fit perfectly right out of the package. Would definitely recommend.
January 2017 I purchased this knife drawer block. It does not make the knives stand up in anyway. My knives lay flat just as in the picture. I have 12 knives now easily grasped where I would have had a tangled mess!! My tray will hold more knives as I acquire them. For those who are looking for a 7 inch knife block, be advised, they are hard to find. Most knife blocks we looked at were something less ie 6 1/2 inches wide. This advertised 7 inch knife block came to us just a bit wider ( ie 7 1/8 inch ). My drawer was 7 inches interior width. Yes, we had to cut it off, but small effort for the extra 2 knives this 7 inch drawer block held for me.
I wanted to get the knife block off the counter. This did the trick. I would have liked it better if it had a spot on it for sharpening tool and the carving forks.

This is a nice quaity knife block. It holds alot of knives of various sizes and lengths, and fits inside my drawer. Good purchase.
