I don't understand the comments that complain about the finish. It's a "rustic" item. Fantastic quality, yet still looks rugged. This is exactly what my counter top needed for a little more organization!
Perfect for my intended purpose. Needed to create a mail center in our kitchen to help sort papers since we don't have a home office, this worked perfectly. Yes the drawer doesn't open that smoothly but this is the best looking sorter I could find.
I was looking for a solution to a plastic bin for sorting my bills and other items. This looked it would work and for the most part it will. I like how larger envelopes fit nicely because of the width of the organizer and I can easily grab what I need. Each level is deep enough that the envelopes don't fall out.
My one complaint is that the drawer is too narrow to hold my check book. The only thing so far are that I've found a use for are to hold pens and pencils. The organizer looks just like the picture and seems sturdy. It's intended to hold paper seems to work very well for that purpose.
Other people have complained about the bottom drawer being less than sturdy, but I do not open and close it frequently at all. I keep a ruler in that drawer, a few loose stamps. I absolutely love how slender it is for the amount of space it gives me to store large pads of paper, catalogs, shipping labels, small sheets of high-denomination stamps for Priority, phone directory and community bulletin, and loads more. I do not keep this at a desktop, but it sits on the top shelf of a vintage bookcase whose colors are of similar distressed shades of blue and grey. The bookcase is a lot more blue, and the mail organizer is a lot more grey, but the colors coordinate perfectly. It is not the strongest object in my house, for sure, but I rarely touch it or look into it. I probably browse through it no more than two or three times a week for several seconds at a time before finding exactly what I'm looking for.
perfect for letter sized papers and I love that I can put files in them to seperate my kids homework. A lot of these are too short to put paper horizontally.

This thing is super cute & exactly what we needed in our kitchen. It's long enough to fit magazines but not talk that it can't sit on a countertop (which was the problem has before - we had a set of mail slots that was intended to be mounted on the wall, but it was so huge that we had trouble finding a place where it would fit & it seemed like our mail just got swallowed up by the gigantic cubbies). As a nice bonus, the stain actually matches the other wood in our kitchen perfectly, lol
Love the color. It doesn’t take to much desk space which is great for me since I have a small desk. I also like how i was able to use the space for cards, paper, a folder and a small notebook.
The drawer does not open easy as said in other reviews but overall very happy.
I use this, obviously, to sort my mail and bills. The drawers small but big enough for some stamps or not elope maybe a penny even or two. The compartments are deep enough for formal letters bills and what have you. It's a nice rustic primitive look and goes well with several different types of decor.
This is a cute mail holder for the desktop. The bottom drawer does not slide nicely but can make it work.
